Welcome to StoryTime-AI ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of all our users, especially children. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information within our application.
2. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY & COPPA COMPLIANCE
StoryTime-AI is designed for family use, spanning age groups from toddlers to adults.
- We do not knowingly collect, store, or share any personal identifiable information (PII) from children under the age of 13.
- Onboarding selections (such as age group brackets and avatar mascots) are stored either locally on the device (for Guest Mode) or linked anonymously to an authentication ID. They are used solely to customize the reading difficulty and theme generation of the AI models.
3. DATA WE COLLECT & HOW IT IS USED
- Authentication Data: If you log in via Google Authentication, we receive an anonymous identifier to keep your account secure across devices.
- Voice & Microphone Data (STT): When using the Microphone feature, your voice audio recording is processed in real-time by secure cloud APIs to translate your speech into story text prompts. We do not store, retain, or share your voice audio files on our servers.
- App Usage Data: We track your aggregate Ink balance (Paid Inks and Ad-Generated Inks) to manage your in-app purchases and ad-reward history securely.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Our application utilizes trusted third-party SDKs that comply with Google Play's Families Policy:
- Google AdMob: Used to deliver rewarded video ads. AdMob may process non-personalized device identifiers for ad-delivery verification and frequency capping.
- Google Gemini & Imagen: Used for story text and scene illustration generation. No personal identifying information is ever transmitted to these models, and all visual filters are locked strictly to family-friendly, G-rated safety parameters.
- Google Analytics (Firebase): Used for anonymous product usage metrics only—for example, which story setup step was completed, which app language was selected, and how far users progress in stories (chapter numbers). We do not send child names, story text, email addresses, or advertising profiles to Analytics. Analytics is not used for personalized ads or marketing.
5. LOCALIZATION AND DEVICE STORAGE
Our application utilizes local device caching (such as AsyncStorage or LocalStorage) to preserve user configuration variables, including your selected interface language (e.g., English, Hebrew) and avatar profile identity. For users operating in Guest Mode, this information remains strictly isolated on your physical handset and is never compiled or tracked centrally on our servers.
6. ACCOUNT & DATA DELETION
- Account & Data Deletion: Users can permanently delete their account profile, saved stories, and Ink balances at any time directly through the app settings menu or by submitting a request via our public data deletion form (https://storytimeai.app/data-deletion). All data is fully purged from our cloud servers within 7 business days.

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By downloading or using StoryTime-AI, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you are under 13, you must use this application under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
2. AI-GENERATED CONTENT DISCLAIMER
All story prose, chapters, and multi-choice path options are generated procedurally by Artificial Intelligence models (Google Gemini). While our system prompts strictly enforce age-appropriate guidelines (tailored to brackets 4-7, 8-12, and 13+), parents are encouraged to review content alongside younger children. We do not guarantee absolute narrative consistency or accuracy.
3. VIRTUAL CURRENCY WALLET RULES (AMENDED)
Inks are digital virtual goods managed within the application ecosystem. Virtual items have zero real-world monetary value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and are completely non-transferable.
- Inks Balance Structure: Your wallet is divided into Ad-Generated Inks (earned via watching rewarded videos) and Paid Inks (purchased with real currency). Ad-Generated Inks are restricted to text-only generation. Paid Inks unlock premium features, including our continuous Audiobook narration engine. Ad-Generated Inks are consumed first during normal text story generation.
- Registered user Ink balances are tracked via a persistent, global server wallet.
- Ink costs scale strictly by formatting type: 5 Inks for Short (5 chapters), 10 Inks for Medium (10 chapters), and 20 Inks for Long (20 chapters).
- Illustration Costs: Mid-book scene illustrations can be optionally unlocked by consuming 2 Paid Inks for premium users, or 1 Ad Ink (or watching 2 consecutive ads) for free tier users. Story final chapters automatically generate a celebratory illustration completely for free.
- Because story paths are compiled and cached live behind the scenes to minimize user network latency, starting a story adventure authorizes the instant transaction deduction for that chapter path.
- If a user chooses to voluntarily abandon a story layout mid-way through execution, unconsumed chapter tokens are non-refundable and cannot be credited back to the live wallet balance.
- In-App Purchases (e.g., $1.99, $3.99, $9.99 tiers) are processed securely through Apple App Store or Google Play Store billing channels and are subject to their respective refund policies.
- Deleting your app local cache while operating in "Guest Mode" will cause unrecoverable loss of locally stored preferences; registered account balances remain on the global server wallet.
4. USER CONDUCT & MIC USAGE
Users agree not to input, dictate, or speak offensive, harmful, or explicitly inappropriate prompts into the story generator input boxes or microphone features. We reserve the right to restrict access to the application for policy violations.
5. TERMINATION
We reserve the right to modify or terminate the application services, packages, or access rules at any time without prior liability.
